AUTOMATIC DRIVING LICENCE EXPLAINED
Taking automatic driving lessons will qualify you with an automatic driving licence. With this you are able to drive automatic cars only. A manual driving licence, however, allows you to drive both manual and automatic cars.
LEARNING TO DRIVE IN AN AUTOMATIC
In a manual car, to be able to control the speed of the car, you need to change gears using the clutch pedal and the gear stick. In an automatic car, there is no clutch pedal and you don’t have to change gears. Gears are selected automatically as you drive.
There are many advantages of taking automatic driving lessons:
• It is quicker and easier to learn to drive an automatic car. With there being no clutch pedal to control and no gears to change, you can concentrate on observations, planning ahead, steering and anticipating other road users’ actions.
• Automatic cars are easier to run in heavy traffic. You won’t have to constantly be changing gears and pressing the clutch pedal every few seconds.
• There has been a gain in popularity of automatic cars. With the new electric cars being introduced, there has been a surge in people buying automatic cars.
